Visit the Long Beach Aquarium!

Even though summer is ending, the fun does not have to. The Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific is not only one of the largest aquariums in the country, it is also open year-round (except Christmas Day and the Grand Prix of Long Beach). The aquarium focuses on the regions of the Pacific that include Southern California/Baja, the Tropical Pacific, and the Northern Pacific. With roughly 30 small exhibits, 17 major living habitats, and 550 species, this is truly a place to visit if you are in the Long Beach area.

Some of the exhibits that the aquarium has include Ocean Exploration, Whales: Voices in the Sea, Shark Lagoon, and many more. Moreover, visitors have the chance to take a Behind-the-Scenes Tour through the Tropical Reef where you can feed the fish. The tour guides will explain how everything works and how they maintain such a beautiful array of fish.

For those who want to stay out late and have a different experience, the Long Beach Aquarium holds Late Nights with extended hours where you can have the chance to touch a shark!
