Tips for Successful Thanksgiving Planning

Thanksgiving Planning TipsThanksgiving festivities are just a little less than a week away, which means there is no better time than now to start planning for a successful holiday. Hosting Thanksgiving can be extremely overwhelming if you do not prepare ahead of time and have a plan! We want you to host the best Thanksgiving Dinner ever, which is why we have gathered these helpful Thanksgiving planning tips:

  • While you may think that your skills in the kitchen are ready to prepare and cook everything on Thanksgiving Day, we recommend prepping the day before so that all of your ingredients are ready to go the morning of. This will provide you with more time to focus on the most important areas of the meal.
  • If there will be young children in attendance, it is recommended that you set up a kids zone so that you can perform in the kitchen free of distractions.
  • Nobody likes to be busy in the kitchen while everyone watching the NFL football game is begging for food or claiming how starving he or she is. Combat this issue by setting out small appetizers such as a veggie platter that is designed to look like a turkey!
  • One of the biggest mistakes people make is not gathering all the ingredients a week before. What if all the local grocery stores run out of your favorite green bean mix for the casserole? Formulate a grocery to-do-list after going through each of your recipes so that you can be confident you did not miss anything.
  • Most importantly, make sure to focus some of your attention on your family because this is really a time to be surrounded by friends, family, and love. While your main responsibility is preparing the delicious feast, enjoying the ones you love is a top priority.
